Christianity is all about a relationship with God.
The problem is, we can’t have a relationship with God. Because, instead of submitting to him as ruler of our lives, every single one of us has rebelled against him. We have said ‘No!’ to his commands. We’d rather rule ourselves, and that is sin.
But God the Father loved us so much that he sent God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come as a human being. He came to live a perfect life and then die on the cross. His dying on the cross was in the place of everyone who puts their trust in him … to take the punishment for THEIR sins.
Everyone who turns away from their own sin (ruling their own life) and puts their trust entirely in Jesus has their sins dealt with on the cross. They are forgiven! They are accepted by God, and so enter a relationship with him! That relationship goes on throughout life and beyond death into heaven forever, and there is no better relationship!
