About Us

Who We Are

We are a group of ordinary people, drawn from various walks of life, and of different ages
and cultures. What unites us is our love for God, and our desire to serve Him.
Therefore, we aim to meet together regularly to worship God, to be
strengthened in our Christian faith and to share friendship and fellowship with each other.
We have around 36 full members, and a Sunday morning congregation of 80 to 100 people.

What We Believe

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He died to
save us from our sins, and lead us back to fellowship with God.
Following His resurrection, He went to live with God the Father in
Heaven. We believe in the Holy Spirit whom he sent to us to act as our
teacher and guide. We also believe in the reliability and authority of
the Bible, which is the inspired Word of God, upon which all of the
teaching in this church is firmly based. In remembrance of what Christ
has done for us, we celebrate Communion, and in obedience to what the
Bible teaches, we practice believers’ baptism. We also hold services of
thanksgiving and dedication to praise God for the gift of children.

Individually, we know that we are not perfect, and we have a tendency
to go our own way instead of following God’s plan, so we need God’s
forgiveness to help change. We know that Jesus Christ makes this
possible, and together we are learning to work this out in the
circumstances and pressures of everyday life.

None of us would claim to have all the answers to life, but we know
that Jesus Christ does. What He offers to us all is forgiveness, love,
understanding, compassion, guidance and the promise of His everlasting
presence with us.

Statement of Faith

The Church shall consist of persons holding and
maintaining the doctrines usually denominated Evangelical, and particularly the
following:

1. The inerrancy of Scripture, it’s full and divine inspiration and
authority in all it’s parts, as the supreme and sufficient rule of faith
and practice, and the right and duty of individual judgment in the
interpretation of it.

2. The eternal unity of the Godhead, and the personality of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

3. The true and proper deity, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary
death, bodily resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ.

4. The fallen and sinful state of man.

5. The justification of the sinner by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ;
a faith that works by love and produced holiness, the blood of our Lord being
the sole ground of redemption.

6. The work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration, sanctification and spiritual
enlightenment of all who believe.

7. The efficacy of Christ the only mediator at the right hand of God, and
the priesthood of all believers.

8. The baptism of believers by immersion.

9. The personal return of Christ.

10. The resurrection of both the just and the unjust; and that all men shall
be made manifest at the judgement seat of Christ, and shall receive according
to their deeds in this present life, whether good or bad. Those who have
believed and obeyed the Gospel shall be openly welcomed into glory; but the
unbelieving and wicked, being condemned, shall suffer everlasting punishment in
hell due to their sins according to the Scriptures.
